Stuart Farmer

My name is Stuart Farmer and I am one of the dentists here at St Andrews Dental Care. Originally from Fife, I graduated from Dundee Dental School in 1980 and was subsequently awarded the DGDP from the Royal College of Surgeons London in 1993 as well as Membership in General Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh the same year. I continue to attend numerous postgraduate courses across the world.

Additionally, I was a vocational trainer for nine years in the 1990s, mentoring newly qualified dentists. More recently, over the past 10 years I have been focusing on restorative and cosmetic dentistry, particularly the placement and restoring of implants.

Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, being with family, gardening, and fishing (when time permits).

David Adam

My name is David Adam and I am one of the dentists here at St Andrews Dental Care. I graduated from The University of Glasgow in 2005 with a Commendation. I returned to Fife to work in general practice and during this time, I spent 11 years as a trainer and mentor to newly graduated dentists.

Although I enjoy all aspects of general practice, I have developed a special interest in endodontics (root canal treatment) and have spent seven years working as an endodontist carrying out more difficult treatments on referral from general practices across Fife.

I am excited to have joined the team in St Andrews in January 2022 where I will be carrying out endodontic treatments for the other dentists.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing guitar, DIY and spend most of my free time with my family.

Claire Seifert

My name is Claire and I am one of the dentists here at St Andrews Dental Care. I graduated from the University of Dundee in 2006 and have gained extensive experience within general dental practice. I have recently completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Restorative Dentistry and am working towards a Diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry. I also provide advanced facial aesthetic treatments.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly attend training courses throughout the UK in cosmetic and restorative dentistry to ensure that my patients receive the most up to date advice and treatments.

I aim to create a welcoming and relaxed environment for patients to make dental visits as enjoyable as possible.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, walking, eating out and travelling.

Chris McCrudden

Chris qualified from Dundee Dental School in 1999. His goal is simply to make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible whilst under his care. His passion for cosmetic dentistry has led him to undertake countless professional development courses both in the UK and around the world, to keep up with the everchanging face of modern dentistry. Some of these are as follows :
  • Master’s Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry from the Rosenthal Institute New York
  • Six Months Smiles Certification, *Invisalign Certification
  • Dental Implantology from Cambridge Academy of Implantology
  • The AO4 Concept with the Malo Clinic Portugal.

Dr Yohan

Yohan Wijesuriya

Yohan graduated in 2010 from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Yohan opened his own clinic in 2011 where he was able to carry out crowns, bridges, veneers and whitening.

Yohan graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons, England in September 2023 and became a fully qualified dentist. He has worked in Kent since 2024 as a dentist.

Yohan has also graduated from the University of Westminster in 2021 after completing a MA degree in Human Resource Management. He continues his further studies in Restorative Dentistry and Dental Implantology.

He spends his spare time practicing calisthenics exercises, meditation and listening to audiobooks.

I’m Lynsay. I’ve been a Dental Therapist since qualifying from Dundee University in 2008 and I’ve worked mainly across the east of Scotland.

I am really passionate about my job and enjoy all the aspects of it. In 2024 I also qualified in Facial Aesthetics which I also love.

In my spare time I love to cook, read and spending time with my partner Wayne and I try to get home to Northern Ireland to see my family but especially my gorgeous nephew Freddie.

With 17 years in the dental industry, I have progressed from Dental Nurse to Implant Nurse and into a management role. My journey has been shaped by dedication, continuous growth, and a strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care.

I am passionate about being truly patient-focused, ensuring every patient feels comfortable, valued, and confident in their treatment. As a manager, I also take great pride in supporting and developing my team, creating a positive environment where we work together to deliver exceptional care every day.

In my spare time I like going walking and spending time with my family and friends.

I enjoy my role as working alongside our implant patients fills me with gratification. I enjoy putting nervous patients at ease and seeing them grow throughout their treatment and regain their confidence.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with loved ones, travelling, cooking and eating good food.

I previously worked in the hospitality sector, where I discovered how much I love working with people and helping them feel comfortable and cared for. I’m really excited to bring those skills into the dental field and continue learning in my new role. I  genuinely enjoy getting to know people and  supporting patients on their journey to achieving their dream smile.

Having had a lifelong fear of the dentist and previous awful experiences in the past at other surgeries I was recommended to St Andrews dental care by a friend who had her treatment here. I can’t find fault with the surgery from the initial consultation to my first surgery yesterday - I was found to need my two front teeth removed( one was a metal bridge which was fitted over a year ago which was aesthetically awful and the other one had cracked at the root which hadn’t been detected at the original accident) the service I received was outstanding- relaying my fears, a painless procedure and the pre and post procedure care so far has been excellent. Stuart and his team constantly ensured I was comfortable and happy for the full 2 hours my of my initial treatment period making me mushy less anxious about upcoming appointments.

I signed up with St Andrews Dental Care over a year ago. I was a very anxious, nervous patient who previously would lose sleep the night before a dental appointment. From my very first conversation with Christina, the receptionist, I was put at ease. Christina and Rebecca are warm and welcoming as soon as you enter the practice. Haley the treatment co-ordinator is attentive and understanding of nervous patients like myself as are the dental nurses. . Claire, the dentist is kind and understanding and has changed the way I feel about any dental treatment. I attended an appointment for an extraction with no fear or nerves and knew I’d receive the best of care. I’m now starting my maintance care plan and have no hesitation in recommending St Andrews Dental care.

I telephoned for an Emergency Apppointment as my own NHS dentist had no space today. I then contacted St Andrews Dental care and I was given an appointment an hour later. The dentist, Claire, was very reassuring and I was very satisfied with the treatment I received. The cost was reasonable considering I am not registered with this practice. Our dentist Claire is brilliant. We always feel at ease and in really good hands with her. She has a lovely calm manner and explains every step as she goes. She recently did some composite bonding on my front teeth and it looks absolutely amazing. She’s also wonderful with my little daughter, who can sometimes feel a bit anxious, but Claire always reassures her by calmly talking her through everything.

I can’t recommend this dental practice highly enough. We had extensive work done here over the course of around 7 months, including two implants with bone graft and 20 porcelain veneers on the top and bottom. The entire experience exceeded my expectations from start to finish.The whole team have been incredibly supportive and accommodating throughout. My main specialist, Chris, is outstanding - not only in terms of skill, but also in the way he approaches his work. He brings a fun, caring atmosphere into what could otherwise be very stressful procedures, which made a massive difference for me. It’s very clear that this is more than just a job to him. He took the time to answer my million questions with calm confidence, never rushing or dismissing any concerns.Being able to message him directly with any questions gave me so much peace of mind, especially as I’m very nervous when it comes to dental treatment. Any time I had a concern, they were able to see me the same day, which I really appreciated.A special thank you to Elle, the dental assistant, who was so kind and attentive during procedures. She could see I was anxious and constantly checked in on me - her calm and gentle manner made a huge difference. Jenna was also amazing during my implant placement.The reception team were just as lovely and accommodating. Little touches like headphones, a stress ball, and a blanket helped me feel far more comfortable and relaxed during treatment.I won’t be going anywhere else for any future dental work and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone looking for exceptional care.

I had a damaged front tooth post which had to be removed by Dr Farmer .So no front teeth 🥴 A synthetic bone graft was necessary due to infection. Then a titanium implant put in . Five months to heal then hooray . Two lovely new front teeth.Great treatment.Thank you so much .Norman McDicken

I have been in treatment for over a year after one of my teeth broke. The team at St Andrews dental care was great all along! I got an appointment very quick and Claire took care of all the dentistry care I needed before going for an implant. Stuart then took over to remove and replace the tooth. It took a lot of work but it was all done painfree, professionally, and really well. The receptionists and nurses were also all super helpful and nice. I would highly recommend the clinic!

Had my wisdom tooth removed today, it all went smoothly with no pain. Claire took good care of me by asking if I was ok on numerous occasions, making sure I was handling the whole procedure well. Also Claire’s assistant made me feel at ease. The lady’s in the reception were very polite.I had no pain throughout my whole experience at Pain Free Dentistry, the staff were extremely courteous, when I look in the mirror and smile now, I see my young self looking back. Im the world’s most nervous patient ! I’ve not been to a dentist in over 10 years . Im currently on holiday in St Andrews & have the worst toothache pain known to man !!I found this clinic online & well what can I say except just WOW !!!I was having panic attack on entry , I honestly was ready to go back into my car as I am so nervous !!! I was met by a pretty receptionist/ nurse I told her I’m so nervous I’m embarrassed etc anyway she helped put me at ease & calm me down .Then Emma my dentist who was taking care of me took me into the room I was shaking sweating talking fast but in so much pain .Emma is honestly an earth angel !!!She listened & could see I was nervous . She was so kind & gentle . She went above & beyond to help treat my pain & my fear of dentist !I am that much pleased with her dental work I am going to register with them & have all my dental implants done here . I wouldn’t go anywhere else now .Everyone from the receptionist to the nurse to the dentist were all so lovely !!I am out of pain now & I think I have conquered my life long fear of dentists !The level of service & quality of work is outstanding. My experience at St Andrews Dental Care was beyond anything I could have hoped for. I have been struggling with TMJ jaw pain for 8 months and after my jaw got stuck yesterday, I decided to head to the clinic after Haley was able to book me in for an emergency appointment (absolute angel!). I got to see Dr. Stuart Farmer who immediately put me at ease and confirmed he could help me. After 8 long months of excruciating pain and no diagnosis from the local GP or NHS Dentist, Dr. Farmer was able to give me one in minutes, and take away the pain instantly. I can see now why they are called the "Pain Free" Dental Clinic. I was sent away with the proper meds and splint needed to correct my problem and have not been in any pain since. I couldn't recommend this clinic more. They will look after you 100% and do it with a level of compassion and professionalism I've had yet to see anywhere else in my 6 years of living in the U.K. Thanks Team :)

I went to St Andrews Dental Care after being with the NHS for many years but starting to feel increasingly let down and concerned about the care I was receiving.This culminated in a tooth getting broken and having to wear a partial denture which I hated. I consulted Stuart who spent a lot of time looking at the issues I had, and after getting some very good remedial general dental work, I started the process for an implant.The process was quite long as I needed to have my bone built back up, but at all times the care and attention was excellent.I am left with a new front tooth which perfectly matches my natural teeth.I have no hesitation in recommending Stuart and this practice. Indeed I have now signed up for regular care here.

St Andrews Dental Care has been an overall excellent and trusted clinic for my dental needs. I have had a missing tooth for years, with little progress or clear path forward, and I am so happy to say that I have just had a successful dental implant surgery.This means so much to me as I’ve been given conflicting advice for years about what is best for me. Until I came here and I have so much more clarity. The receptionists are so kind and helpful, there are payment plans to suit different budgets, and everything has been explained clearly every step of the way. A special shout out to Claire and Stuart for all of their help and support throughout the process of my implant.Would definitely recommend this dental clinic if you are looking for high quality dental implant or orthodontic care.

I had my wisdom tooth removed by Dr Farmer. Both he and his assistant were fantastic throughout the procedure really putting me at ease. A phone call the following morning to check how I was feeling was really welcome, and shown a real care for patients. It really was a pain free experience and I can’t recommend them enough.

I had my wisdom tooth removed by claire today. I must say that in all dentists I have been to before, this was the best experience I've had. Claire was very professional and caring throughout the procedure. I felt no pain or distress through it. Very good dentish and all staff are extremely friendly. Highly recommend.

I can't describe how grateful I am for this practice. Everyone is wonderful, and they helped me--a person they didn't know, on holiday from the States, who suffered an emergency from a previous oral surgery.I'd emailed the affiliate office in Dundee, closer to where I was, but they didn't handle the level of care I needed but asked permission to forward my inquiry to St. Andrews. Within the hour, Christina from St. Andrews reached out to me.This is when I had an inkling of how incredible this office is.Christina said Stuart, the oral surgeon with the proper expertise in the area I needed, would be happy to see me, and could I provide some information from my U.S. surgeon (whom I had been trying to reach, to no avail). I sent her the information, and said I'd not yet received a reply. She could not find an email on the website, so she called--the U.S.I was miserable, barely able to eat, and the problems I was having were NOT typical for my past surgery, so I was terrified if I didn't get help, the implications would be worse, as every day I could discern my issues growing progressively worse. But Christina was able to squeeze me into Stuart's schedule as soon right after he returned from leave.Stuart's credentials were impeccable, and it showed in when it mattered most: It turned out Stuart did not have exactly the right instruments that would have made what he needed to do to "patch me up" until I could have the problem fixed permanently in the U.S. And this is THE most important part of this review and why I tell this longer story:Stuart, had to think on his feet and figure out what tools would work to get the job done correctly. You see, medicine is a science, but I have always heard good doctors/dentists say that it is also an art. Because Stuart is an expert at what he does, with years of experience, training--and training others, because he travels and keeps current with research and best practices, he was able to think fast about what could work.There was one moment when he thought he might have to send me to the lab in Dundee for just one last thing. But then he said maybe he had something in a bag at the end of the counter... and he tried it; his next words were, "it's a miracle."I replied, "you're a genius."He spent almost two hours fixing me up. When I tell you I had been in tears for 2-3 weeks, even wondering if it was fixable, I'm not exaggerating.I felt like hugging both him and Elle (his assistant for my appt--also wonderful, kind. Elle has amazing eyesight and can find the smallest things that drop on the floor! She spotted and sanitized what I couldn't even see!) Elle is a perfect assistant and made me feel cared for as well.I actually never asked the cost; probably no one could tell me since they wouldn't have known what needed done. But the cost was absolutely fair and reasonable. There was no padded charge they tried to make up and take advantage of the way some places might. I paid for a long and involved visit in a highly qualified office, where he saved my mouth, allowed me to eat, and gave me hope to enjoy the rest of my summer. I can't tell you how much that meant to me.Rebecca, yet another radiant and friendly person that gives a lovely image to this practice, checked me out. Christina had left for the day.When I emailed Christina to thank her for doing so much to help me, she admitted she checked with Rebecca later to see that I was taken care of, and that basically explains the heart of this office.While they're not NHS, if you can manage a private care office, choose this one. Most of all, you need medical professionals who think deeply and strategically when situations are not clear cut. I cannot recommend St. Andrews Dental Care highly enough.PS: I am leaving this review over a week after my appt, simply to note that Stuart's work really did do the job and I have been able to eat, and have no complications; my appt. to have the entire process redone is next month in the States, but thanks to Stuart, it's no longer an emergency.

I would highly recommend this practice. I had a consultation with Hayley and she discussed my options over a coffee and then booked me in with the Dentist who specialised in what i wanted. Throughout my treatment Hayley kept in constant contact and even checked in on me after my appointments. I was offered some lovely extras too which included a eyemask and lipbalm !
