What Are Implants?
Implants are typically used where loss of the natural tooth has occurred and are small titanium screws which are fixed into the jawbone to provide a stable foundation for a synthetic tooth, which is similar to a natural tooth.
Why Choose an Implant?

Implants are an alternative to dentures and bridges and are often preferred as they are fixed and appear more like a natural tooth.

Implants can also be used to hold a denture in place and are good for slowing down the process of bone loss which can occur following the loss of a natural tooth.

Dental Implant Clinic

Stuart began practicing implant restoration in the late 1990's after attending a number of implant surgery courses around the globe. He has been restoring implants for over 10 years and has been fitting implants since 2004. Stuart is a member of the Association of Dental Implantologists and regularly attends post-graduate implant updates in the UK and overseas.

Having practiced restorative dentistry for over 30 years Stuart firmly believes that implants provide the best option available for replacing missing teeth:

‘It is fantastic to be able to offer patients the option of an implant as previously we were only able to provide a denture or a bridge. These treatments involved either wearing a plate and potential gum problems or destroying healthy tooth structure to provide a bridge. Implants maintain the patient’s bone and for all intents and purposes the patient feels as if they have their original tooth back.’

After evaluating several implant systems we have selected an American implant system supplied by the orthopaedic group Biomet 3i. This system boasts some of the best research and evidence based studies showing its effectiveness for up to 20 years.

The cost of a single implant is roughly £1,300. If you have subsequent implants there would be a slight reduction in fees. However, this is an estimated cost and the dentist would discuss exact fees at a consultation appointment.

For larger treatment that may be difficult to budget for we have introduced an interest free credit facility with Chrysalis Personal Medical Finance or Braemar Finance.

Please ask in the surgery for further information.
